Dr. Carter regrets . . .

that he has made a proofreading error in the August calendar which has led to an error in the September calendar. I double-assigned Beowulf HW the last week of August. Rather than reprint the September calendar, I will allow students to turn in the Beowulf HW after Labor Day as per the September calendar. To make the best use of our time, however, we will read "The Seafarer" in class Thurs. & Fri. even though the HW for that poem is not due for another week after that. This will give students greater flexibility in doing the homework and will enable me to introduce the Anglo-Saxon paper before labor day, giving students 4 days' more flexibility in working on that assignment as well. I know it sounds complicated, but the upshot is this: THE DUE DATES ON THE SEPTEMBER CALENDAR WILL REMAIN AS THEY ARE (at least for now). Again, Dr. Carter regrets any confusion this error may have caused.
